Lacombe Lions Club Fountain Dedication

Councillor Bill McQuesten joined the Lacombe Lions Club and members of the public on Saturday, July 15 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Lions Club International with the dedication of the fountain in Cranna Lake.

A partnership between the Lacombe Lions Club and the City of Lacombe led to the design and installation of the fountain, which has since become a favorite city landmark.

"It has been the backdrop in family photos and summer festivals, has added a touch of elegance to a quiet walk around the lake, and has been gazed upon wistfully by students who would rather be outside than studying in class," said Councillor McQuesten. "On behalf of Council, I want to thank the Lacombe Lions Club for working with the City to complete this project and offer my sincere congratulations to the Lions Club for 100 years of both local and global community service."

The Lacombe Lions Club, established in 1938, has been involved in many initiatives both locally and internationally. Some international programs include assistance to visually impaired and blind individuals as well as financial support for disaster relief efforts around the world.
