Municipal retail survey to gauge local shopping habits
In an effort to assess the local shopping climate, the City of Lacombe is seeking feedback from residents and visitors on their shopping habits through an online retail survey, the results of which will be incorporated into the City’s Municipal Development Plan (MDP) update.
“The City is seeking information regarding your shopping experiences in Lacombe,” said Planning Intern Josh de Jong. “We are using this survey instrument to better understand what local shopping services are being utilized and why.”
Once the MDP Update is adopted, it will be used to guide all future development in Lacombe. This will range from new subdivisions to redevelopment in existing neighborhoods. It will provide a consistent blueprint, and help citizens gain assurances as to what is being planned for their neighborhoods. The MDP will also provide guidance to anyone who wishes to develop in the community.
The retail survey runs until August 15, 2014, and is available at www.lacombe,ca/retailsurvey. Paper copies of the survey are available at City Hall, and Lacombe County residents may pick up a paper copy at the Lacombe County Administration office.
