Central Alberta Regional Heritage School Fair

Mayor Christie checks out some of the student's history projects

On Saturday, May 10, over 50 students from across central Alberta gathered in Lacombe to participate in the 2014 Central Alberta Regional Heritage School Fair.  This annual contest challenges students in Grades 4 to 8 to create projects showcasing an aspect of Canadian history and compete for top prizes.  The top prize winner of the event will represent the Central Alberta region at the Provincial championships in Edmonton.

All present were delighted by the variety of entertainment provided.  From an epic Viking battle held in Lest We Forget Park to a Scottish Bag Piper, there was something for everyone.  Congratulations to all who participated in the event and shared their love of history with Lacombe!
